You searched for me in daylight,
I was right there by your side
But you never saw me
The sun overwhelmed my light.

You searched for me in twilight
But the moon was yet to come
I tried to call out to you
But my light just wasn't enough.

You looked at the starry skies,
Teardrops formed in your eyes
